Welcome back to the Austin Fireflies!
The Fireflies are a group of lampworked-glass enthusiasts located in or around Austin, Texas. Lamporking is the art of working glass rods in the flame of a torch to make relatively small items such as beads, pendants, marbles, paperweights, bracelets and the like. We have members at all levels of skill, from curious beginners to professionals who have been doing this for many years. We meet at 7 PM on the last Saturday of each month at Blue Moon Glassworks. Fireflies Focal Bead Poster!

We are going to do a poster of the Best of the Austin Fireflies 2007!! We're requesting everyone to submit one focal bead of their choosing for this project. The deadline for submission will be May 31st. (You will get your bead back after it has been photographed. )
The posters will be available for sale at whatever the cost is to get the photography and printing done. I'm hoping to have enough beads to do a 16 x 20 poster. Everyone's work is eligible!! You can mail your bead to us or drop it off anytime between now and the end of May or bring it to the Fireflies meeting on May 26th. We're looking forward to seeing everyone's beads!
